Job summary

Chillflow Solutions Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a Design Engineer to focus on Protection & Control for HV and renewable infrastructure in Sydney. The role emphasizes secondary systems design, drafting, and rigorous design reviews.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in HV projects, NSP/contractor exposure, and strong P&C expertise including relay coordination, QoSM, and SCADA integration. On-site work and travel to sites are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in HV/renewable infrastructure design in Australia.
• Experience in NSP/contractor environment is essential.
• Strong knowledge of Protection & Control systems, relay configurations, protection studies, insulation coordination, earthing, QoSM, and metering.

Responsibilities

• Develop concept and detailed designs for secondary systems, including drafting and studies.
• Lead design reviews for Protection & Control, automation, and communications.
• Participate in safety in design reviews (HAZID/HAZCON/HAZOP).
• Respond to RFIs related to secondary systems and equipment.
• Attend FAT, SCAT, and bench testing when required.
• Contribute to tender submissions and feasibility studies for Protection & Control designs.
• Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to deliver high‑quality solutions.
• Perform technical investigations and feasibility assessments for proposed designs.
• Prepare and review technical specifications and documentation for Protection & Control systems.
• Engage with vendors to ensure procurement of equipment and materials.
• Conduct site inspections and project meetings for compliance and input.
• Drive continuous improvement in design processes.
