Job summary

Peabody Energy, Inc. is seeking a High Voltage Electrician for the Coppabella Moorvale Joint Venture mine, 140 km southwest of Mackay.

You will execute maintenance on mining equipment across site, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards while keeping fleet operational. The role offers a 7/7 roster with options for residential Moranbah/Nebo, DIDO or FIFO, camp accommodation provided, and Living Away From Home allowances.

Qualifications

• Must hold a QLD Electrical Licence and have open cut mining maintenance experience.
• Experience with defect inspections and SAP work management systems.
• High Voltage switching competencies.
• PLC and SCADA Control system experience.
• Current LVR/CPR competency within the last 12 months.
• Ability to read and interpret Electrical Schematics.
• EWP and Working at Heights desirable.
• 3yrs HME experience.
• Motivated and hard working with a professional attitude.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to site safety standards and statutory regulations.
• Maintenance on mobile mining equipment and fixed plant infrastructure.
• Prioritise and undertake specified and/or general work to the required standard and within timeframes.
• Maintain a safe, clean and healthy work environment.
• Participate in shift change, site meetings, communications or reporting requirements to the required standard.
• Actively engage in the Peabody Continuous Improvement Program.

We are currently seeking a High Voltage Electricianat our Coppabella Moorvale Joint Venture (CMJV) – Coppabella Mine. Our CMJV mine complex consists of two open-cut mine operations located approximately 140 kilometres southwest of Mackay thatproduce premium low-volatile pulverized coal (LV-PCI) for export markets.

About the role

Reporting to theElectrical Supervisor, the role isresponsible for executing maintenance on mining equipment across site,ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and adhering to safe and efficient work practices, helping to keep our fleet running smoothly.

Duties will include

• Adhere to site safety standards and statutory regulations at all times.
• Compliance with site Safety and Health Management system requirements (including risk management, SOP’s, permits, work instructions etc.).
• Maintenance on mobile mining equipment and fixed plant infrastructure
• Prioritise and undertake specified and/or general work to the required standard and within timeframes
• Maintain a safe, clean and healthy work environment.
• Participate in shift change, site meetings, communications or reporting requirements to the required standard.
• Actively engage in the in the Peabody Continuous Improvement Program.

The lifestyle

This position is offered on a 7/7 roster and can allow for a residential (Moranbah or Nebo), DIDO or FIFO lifestyle. Camp accommodation is provided. Employees residing locally may be eligible for the Living Away From Home or Accommodation Assistance allowance, depending on circumstances.

About you

The successful candidate will hold a QLD Electrical Licence and have experience in an open cut mining maintenance environment. You will also have:

• Previous experience working on mobile equipment including but not limited to, Draglines, P&H Electric rope shovels, Liebherr T282, Komatsu 930E/830E and Hitachi EH4000 electric drive trucks.
• Experience with defect inspections, SAP work management systems.
• A Continuous Improvement commitment and positive attitude towards change.
• A strong commitment to workplace safety proceduresand disciplines.
• High Voltage switching competencies.
• PLC and SCADA Control system experience.
• Current LVR/CPR competency (within the last 12 Months).
• Ability to read and interpret Electrical Schematics.
• EWP and Working at Heights desirable.
• 3yrs HME experience.
• Motivated and hard working with a professional attitude.
