Caulfield Grammar School in Victoria invites applications for a Humanities Teacher on a 12-month fixed-term contract commencing January 2027. The role focuses on delivering Geography and History with inclusive, evidence-based teaching and formative assessment to support diverse learners within a vibrant, student-centered faculty.

The Humanities Teacher will inspire and engage students through contemporary teaching practices, creating dynamic learning experiences that foster curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity. Working collaboratively within the faculty, the role is responsible for delivering high-centered Humanities programs that are responsive to individual learning needs, student needs, and designed to maximise student growth and achievement.

Through evidence-based teaching, formative assessment and continuous refinement of practice, the Humanities Teacher will cultivate a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment where students are challenged to think deeply, solve problems creatively and apply their knowledge in meaningful ways.

This is a 12 month, fixed – term opportunity commencing January 2027.

Key Duties

• Evaluate students' skills to create a flexible, individualised curriculum in Humanities that addresses their specific needs and goals.
• Implement learning programs based on research into how students learn, using formative assessment techniques to adjust instruction and enhance engagement and understanding.
• Continuously refine teaching strategies and activities using student feedback and assessment data to improve lesson plans and delivery.
• Develop student-centred activities that promote exploration and innovation in product design, encouraging practical application of theoretical knowledge.
• Set high expectations to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom culture, fostering creativity and problem-solving.
• Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours.

Skills and Experience

• Demonstrated experience teaching Geography andHistory is highly desirable
• Genuine enthusiasm for teaching and commitment to students’ academic and personal growth
• Good communication skills and the ability to explain complex design concepts effectively and engage with students, colleagues, and parents.
• Committed to ongoing professional development, keeping up to date with current trends in Humanities, and maintaining a proactive attitude.
• Hold a VIT registration and relevant Teaching Qualification with specialised qualifications in Humanities or related fields.
