Job description

Job Details This organisation is a global leader in critical infrastructure, operating across the energy and industrial resources sectors. The organisation plays an integral role in keeping Australia’s supply chains moving, providing highly specialised infrastructure and services that enable essential products to be safely stored, managed and distributed. Operating within a highly regulated and safety critical environment, their Australian operations continue to evolve. There is now an opportunity for an experienced HR leader to play a genuine role in shaping its people, culture and organisational capability. We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager to take ownership of the HR agenda across the Australian business. This is a highly visible, standalone position reporting directly to the Managing Director and partnering closely with senior leaders across multiple locations. You'll work across a diverse workforce, from operational and technical employees through to senior executives, making this an ideal opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys complexity, autonomy and being close to the operation. This isn't a role where you'll simply implement policies developed elsewhere. You'll have the opportunity to shape the local people strategy, influence leadership decisions and drive meaningful change across the organisation. This position will pay up to $200,000 + Superannuation + general vehicle allowance and will eventually offer two days working from home after six months. Head Office is based in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, with free parking available on site.

What Your Role Will Look Like
  • Develop and implement the local HR strategy aligned with broader business objectives
  • Partner with senior leaders on people strategy, workforce planning, organisational design and transformation
  • Lead talent, performance, remuneration, succession, development and retention strategies
  • Drive employee engagement, culture, organisational change and employee experience initiatives
  • Provide expert advice on employee relations, workplace matters and complex industrial relations, including EBA negotiations and union relationships
  • Develop HR policies and frameworks, ensure Australian employment law compliance, and leverage people data to improve business outcomes
What You Bring
  • 10+ years' HR experience within a complex operational, industrial, infrastructure, energy, resources, manufacturing or similar environment
  • Strong experience managing employee relations and industrial relations, including EBA negotiations and unions
  • A proven track record of delivering change, transformation and employee engagement initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation
  • Excellent influencing, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to build credibility quickly with both senior management and operational employees
  • A pragmatic and hands-on approach, with the confidence to make decisions independently
