Job summary

Healthcare Australia (HCA) is seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead our Primary Health Services business unit. You’ll partner with senior leaders to deliver practical, commercially focused HR solutions that support workforce effectiveness and business outcomes.

In this hands-on leadership role you’ll drive HR operations, employee relations, and organisational change, building a sustainable HR operating model and partnering with Recruitment, Learning & Development and WHS specialists.

Qualifications

• Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or related field.
• Experience in HR operations, business partnering and employee relations.
• Ability to coach leaders and drive organisational change.
• Strong communication with senior stakeholders and healthcare teams.

We are looking for an experienced HR Manager to support our Primary Health Services business unit, partnering with leaders across a complex service delivery environment to deliver practical, commercially focused HR solutions.

Working closely with senior leaders and operational teams (nurses and other healthcare professionals), you’ll provide practical HR advice and solutions that support workforce effectiveness, employee engagement, performance and business outcomes.

This is a hands‑on HR leadership role with a strong focus on HR operations, employee relations, business partnering and organisational change. As the business continues to mature, you’ll also play an important role in strengthening and embedding HR processes, systems and ways of working, helping to establish a consistent and sustainable HR operating model.

You’ll work closely with the broader HCA HR team and specialist functions to provide a connected and effective People & Culture service to the business.

Day to day, you will:

• Partner with senior leaders and operational teams to understand business priorities and provide practical, commercially focused HR advice and solutions.
• Oversee HR operations and employee lifecycle processes, ensuring consistent, compliant and effective HR practices across the business.
• Provide senior advice on complex employee relations and industrial relations matters, acting as an escalation point where required.
• Use workforce data and insights to identify trends, risks and opportunities and support workforce planning and business decision-making.
• Lead the HR component of organisational change and drive improvements to HR processes, systems and ways of working.
• Coach and support leaders to build high‑performing, accountable and engaged teams, while working collaboratively with Recruitment, Learning & Development and Work Health & Safety specialist teams.

Let’s talk about you

We’re looking for an experienced HR professional who can build trusted relationships with senior leaders and provide practical, commercially focused HR advice. You’ll bring strong HR operational and business partnering experience, with solid knowledge of ER/IR and confidence managing complex people matters.

You’ll be a clear communicator who can navigate challenges, coach and influence leaders, and turn business needs into practical people solutions.

Experience working with healthcare or other frontline workforces, such as aged care, community services, disability, nursing or allied health, would be highly regarded. A degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or a related field is expected.
