Job summary

Drake International - Australia is seeking an experienced HR Leader to partner with senior management in a manufacturing environment. You will advise on people matters, drive capability, culture, and systems to enable operational excellence.

Key responsibilities include HR/IR advisory, performance management, recruitment, workforce planning, safety programs, investigations, and learning and development, with a strong emphasis on compliance and industrial relations.

Job description

Reporting to Senior leadership in the business, this role is responsible for the HR and Admin functions. You will be a key advisor on all people-related matters, ensuring the business is equipped with the capability, culture, and systems to deliver operational excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES

• Partner with leaders to provide HR and IR advice.
• Drive performance management frameworks and uplift leadership capability.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning activities.
• Ensure compliance with employment legislation, policies, and enterprise agreements.
• Lead and support workplace investigations, grievances, and dispute resolution.
• Oversee training and development programs aligned to operational needs.
• Support and strengthen health, safety, and return-to-work programs.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across people, culture, and systems.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience in a generalist HR leadership role within a manufacturing, production, logistics or industrial environment.
• Understanding of safe work practices and a strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
• A confident and pragmatic HR leader who is equally comfortable on the floor as you are influencing senior leaders.
• Strong industrial relations and employment law expertise.
• Experience working with unions.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex employee matters and investigations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills across all levels of the business.
