Job summary

Emeco is seeking an experienced HSET Advisor based at Prominent Hill, SA, to work with site leadership and superintendents to ensure our Health, Safety, Environment and Training Management Systems meet legal and client standards. The role focuses on implementing safety programs, training, audits, and incident investigations in a mining context.

You will collaborate to educate and embed policies, monitor compliance using Viking (MYOSH), and provide regular reporting on HSET metrics.

Qualifications

• Current Australian Drivers Licence.
• Minimum Cert IV in Work Health and Safety.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116).
• ICAM Lead Investigator experience (desirable).
• High level knowledge and experience in Health, Safety, Environment and Training.
• In-depth knowledge of current legislative requirements and applying them at the workplace.
• Experience in mining/resource industries.
• Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines.
• Adaptable to change.

Responsibilities

• Assist with on-going health, safety, and training management system implementation and compliance.
• Develop and deliver HSET training programs, inductions, and competency verifications.
• Support development and maintenance of HSET systems at the site.
• Embed organisational policies and procedures across the site.
• Provide regular metrics analysis and reporting on HSET progress.
• Lead incident investigations with site management and ensure corrective actions are closed.
• Monitor Viking (MYOSH) system within delegated authority.
• Conduct workplace inspections and audits to identify non-conformances and improvements.
• Assist Injury Management coordinator with return-to-work processes.

We have a great opportunity for an experienced HSET Advisor to join Emeco’s team, based at Prominent Hill in South Australia.

As a key member of our site based leadership team, this role will be responsible for working in consultation and collaboration with the Superintendents to provide expertise and advice and to ensure our Health, Safety, Environment and Training Management Systems are effective and compliant to company, client and regulatory requirements.

What your day would look like:

• Assist with on-going implementation and compliance to safety and training management systems
• Develop, coordinate and deliver HSET Training programs to the workforce and management including, site inductions and any other required site based training including verification of competencies
• Actively support the development and maintenance of sites Health, Safety, Environment and Training Management System
• Educate and embed the organisational policies, processes, systems, and procedures in support of the national HSET strategy and Emeco Health, Safety, Environment and Training Management System
• Provide regular analysis and reporting of metrics to the business to communicate progress against HSET plans and keyobjectives
• Lead incident investigations with site management to ensure root causes and corrective actions are identified, implemented and closed out within the agreed time frame
• Monitor and manage the health, safety, environment and training management system – Viking (MYOSH) to your delegated authority level accurately
• Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits to monitor compliance ensuring any non-conformances or improvement opportunities identified are reviewed and actions implemented
• Assisting the Injury Management coordinator with injured workers and the return-to-work coordination

What we'll need from you:

• Current Australian Drivers Licence
• Minimum Cert IV in Work Health and Safety
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116)
