Job summary

Freo Group Pty Ltd is seeking a hands-on HSEQ Lead to join our team at the Hope Valley HQ. You will translate strategic priorities into practical systems, standards and processes while partnering with operational leaders and HSE Business Partners to improve safety, quality and environmental performance.

With strong technical HSEQ knowledge and the ability to influence at all levels, you will help build a proactive safety culture and deliver continuous improvement across high‑risk operations in

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in WHS, Environmental, Quality, Risk Management or related discipline.
  • HSEQ experience in mining, crane and lifting, construction, transport, maintenance or another high‑risk industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and relevant standards.
  • Experience supporting HSEQ systems, compliance, assurance or continuous improvement programs.
  • Experience in risk management, auditing, incident investigation and corrective action processes.
  • Exposure to injury management, workers' compensation and return-to-work programs.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build credibility across all levels.
  • High levels of integrity, sound judgement and ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of Freo Group's HSEQ strategy and priorities.
  • Work with HSE Business Partners and leaders to drive consistent HSEQ standards.
  • Coordinate compliance, assurance, risk management and continuous improvement activities.
  • Support injury management, workers' compensation and return-to-work processes.
  • Assist with incident investigations, corrective action and lessons learned.
  • Support HSEQ training, competency and verification initiatives.
  • Coordinate external certifications, audits and ongoing compliance obligations.
  • Drive practical improvements that strengthen safety culture and business performance.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a confident, hands-on HSEQ Lead to join our team based at our Head Office in Hope Valley, Perth.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their HSEQ career. Working closely with operational leaders and HSE Business Partners, you will help implement Freo Group's HSEQ priorities, strengthen organisational capability and support continuous improvement across safety, quality and environmental performance.

The role will suit someone who enjoys translating strategic priorities into practical systems, standards and processes, building strong relationships across the business and providing trusted technical advice that helps teams achieve safe and effective outcomes.

The right person will bring strong technical HSEQ knowledge, sound judgement and a genuine passion for supporting leaders and employees to create a positive and proactive safety culture.

What You'll Bring To The Team
  • Tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety, Environmental, Quality, Risk Management or a related discipline.
  • HSEQ experience within mining, crane and lifting, construction, transport, maintenance or another high-risk industry.
