Job summary

Rauland is expanding its HSE leadership role across Australia and New Zealand. The HSE Manager will integrate existing foundations into a practical management system that strengthens governance, compliance and a positive safety culture for people, customers and operations.

The role combines strategy and hands-on delivery, partnering with stakeholders to build capability, improve compliance and drive continuous improvement in safety and environmental practices.

Qualifications

• Experience leading HSE programs in manufacturing/operational environments.
• Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and contemporary practices.
• Experience implementing or improving HSE management systems.

We're seeking an experienced HSE Manager to help lead that journey.

This is a newly created role and a unique opportunity to shape the future of safety and environmental management at Rauland. You'll take existing foundations, bring them together into a practical and sustainable HSE management system, strengthen governance and compliance, and help foster a positive safety culture that supports our people, customers and operations.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of Business Excellence, you'll work across the organisation to strengthen health, safety and environmental practices while supporting leaders to manage risk effectively.

This is a hands-on role that combines strategy and delivery. You'll partner with stakeholders across the business to build capability, improve compliance, implement governance structures and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Key areas of focus include:

• Building and embedding Rauland's HSE Management System
• Strengthening risk management and incident reporting processes
• Establishing Health & Safety Committees and HSE working groups
• Driving compliance with WHS legislation and psychosocial risk obligations
• Managing injury management and return-to-work programs
• Supporting environmental and sustainability reporting requirements
• Developing practical policies, procedures and operational controls
• Contributing to continuous improvement and organisational HSE maturity

About You

You're a pragmatic HSE professional who knows how to balance compliance requirements with operational realities.

You build trusted relationships, influence stakeholders effectively and enjoy working collaboratively to deliver meaningful outcomes.

You’ll bring:

• Demonstrated HSE leadership experience
• Strong knowledge of Australian WHS and sustainability legislation and contemporary safety practices
• Experience implementing or improving HSE management systems
• Expertise in risk management, incident investigations and corrective actions
• Experience managing return-to-work and rehabilitation processes
• Exposure to psychosocial hazard management
• Experience in climate and packaging sustainability reporting
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
• A practical, solutions-focused approach
• Experience within manufacturing, construction, logistics or other operationally focused environments will be highly regarded.
• Exposure to ISO 45001/ISO 14001, internal auditing, environmental compliance or sustainability reporting will also be advantageous.
