Job summary

Webuild S.p.A. is seeking a Senior HSSE Advisor to join the K2 Team on site in Kwinana. You will provide senior HSSE leadership, oversee risk-based inspections and critical controls, and coordinate permit-to-work and high‑risk activities with construction and commissioning teams.

The role requires 8–10 years in HSSE on major projects, strong incident investigation credentials, and the ability to influence leaders and coach teams across interfaces. WA-based role with competitive package.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years’ HSSE experience with senior site advisory on major EPC/D&C projects.
• Experience across construction and commissioning, high‑risk work controls, incident investigation.
• Ability to influence project leaders, coach HSE personnel and workforces.
• Degree/Diploma in Work Health & Safety or related discipline.
• Current incident investigation training and relevant construction safety credentials.
• Lead auditor or HSSE qualifications desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day HSSE delivery across allocated work fronts and provide authoritative advice to construction, commissioning and subcontractor leadership.
• Plan and lead risk‑based inspections, audits and critical‑control verifications, analyse findings and drive timely close‑out of corrective actions.
• Provide senior oversight of permit‑to‑work, isolation, SIMOPS and high‑risk activities, including lifting, work at heights, confined space, energisation and interfaces.
• Facilitate hazard studies, risk assessments to ensure controls are effective and in the field.
• Lead or support incident and near‑miss investigations, determine causes and embed corrective actions.
• Monitor HSSE performance trends, prepare reports and recommend improvements to project leadership.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior HSSE Advisor to join the K2 Team onsite in Kwinana! In this role, you will effectively provide senior, site-based Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) leadership and assurance for the K2 Project).

Clough is delivering the design and construction of the Kwinana Gas Power Generation 2 project (K2), a new 220 MW gas fired power station to be built in Kwinana, south of Perth. K2 will deliver fast start, flexible generation to provide critical backup capacity that supports the increasing application of renewable energy across Western Australia.

Your focus will include:

• Lead day-to-day HSSE delivery across allocated work fronts and provide authoritative advice to construction, commissioning and subcontractor leadership
• Plan and lead risk-based inspections, audits and critical-control verifications, analyse findings and drive timely close-out of corrective actions
• Provide senior oversight of permit-to-work, isolation, SIMOPS and high-risk activities, including lifting, working at heights, confined space, energisation and interface work with operating facilities
• Facilitate and challenge hazard studies, CRAWs, SWMS/JHAs and task risk assessments to confirm controls are specific, effective and implemented in the field
• Lead or support significant incident and high-potential near-miss investigations, determine underlying causes, develop quality corrective actions and verify learning is embedded
• Monitor and interpret HSSE performance trends, prepare accurate reports and recommend targeted improvement actions to project leadership

What you will bring to the team:

• Minimum 8–10 years’ progressive HSSE experience, including senior site-based advisory responsibility on major EPC or D&C projects
• Demonstrated experience across construction and commissioning, high-risk work controls, contractor management, incident investigation and regulatory compliance
• Proven ability to influence project leaders, coach HSE personnel and workforces, communicate with clients and operate independently in a complex live-interface environment
• Degree, Diploma or equivalent qualification in Work Health & Safety, Environmental Management or a related discipline
• Current recognised incident investigation training and construction safety credentials relevant to the role
• Lead auditor, training/assessment or other relevant HSSE qualifications are desirable
