Job summary

Webuild S.p.A. is seeking an experienced Senior HSSE Advisor to join the K2 Team onsite in Kwinana.

You will provide senior, site-based Health, Safety, Security and Environment leadership for the K2 project, ensuring robust HSSE delivery and assurance on a major gas power generation site. Role requires 8–10 years of HSSE experience on EPC/D&C projects, regulatory compliance expertise, and strong ability to influence leaders, coach teams, and drive learning.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of progressive HSSE experience with senior site advisory responsibility on major EPC/D&C projects.
• Experience across construction and commissioning, high-risk controls, incident investigations and regulatory compliance.
• Leading influence on project leaders, coaching HSE personnel and working in a live-interface environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day HSSE delivery across allocated work fronts and provide authoritative advice to leadership.
• Plan and lead risk-based inspections, audits and critical-control verifications; close out corrective actions.
• Provide senior oversight of permit-to-work, isolation, SIMOPS and high-risk activities such as lifting and working at heights.
• Facilitate hazard studies, SWMS/JHAs, and task risk assessments to ensure effective field controls.
• Lead or support significant incident and near-miss investigations; determine causes and verify corrective actions.
• Monitor HSSE performance trends; prepare reports and recommend improvements to project leadership.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior HSSE Advisor to join the K2 Team onsite in Kwinana! In this role, you will effectively provide senior, site-based Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) leadership and assurance for the K2 Project).

Clough is delivering the design and construction of the Kwinana Gas Power Generation 2 project (K2), a new 220 MW gas fired power station to be built in Kwinana, south of Perth. K2 will deliver fast start, flexible generation to provide critical backup capacity that supports the increasing application of renewable energy across Western Australia.

Your focus will include:

• Lead day-to-day HSSE delivery across allocated work fronts and provide authoritative advice to construction, commissioning and subcontractor leadership
• Plan and lead risk-based inspections, audits and critical-control verifications, analyse findings and drive timely close-out of corrective actions
• Provide senior oversight of permit-to-work, isolation, SIMOPS and high-risk activities, including lifting, working at heights, confined space, energisation and interface work with operating facilities
• Facilitate and challenge hazard studies, CRAWs, SWMS/JHAs and task risk assessments to confirm controls are specific, effective and implemented in the field
• Lead or support significant incident and high-potential near-miss investigations, determine underlying causes, develop quality corrective actions and verify learning is embedded
• Monitor and interpret HSSE performance trends, prepare accurate reports and recommend targeted improvement actions to project leadership

What you will bring to the team:

• Minimum 8–10 years’ progressive HSSE experience, including senior site-based advisory responsibility on major EPC or D&C projects
• Demonstrated experience across construction and commissioning, high-risk work controls, contractor management, incident investigation and regulatory compliance
• Proven ability to influence project leaders, coach HSE personnel and workforces, communicate with clients and operate independently in a complex live-interface environment
• Degree, Diploma or equivalent qualification in Work Health & Safety, Environmental Management or a related discipline
• Current recognised incident investigation training and construction safety credentials relevant to the role
• Lead auditor, training/assessment or other relevant HSSE qualifications are desirable
