Job summary

CSIRO in Geraldton, WA is seeking a Health, Safety and Environment coordinator for a 12-month term to support the SKA-Low project on site. You will help implement HSE plans, manage training bookings and records, and assist with risk assessments.

This role offers on-site exposure, travel to the telescope site, and mentoring while developing practical HSE knowledge in a major international program. Strong organisation, communication and time-management are essential, with flexibility for part-time

Qualifications

• Background in Health and Safety administration, training, compliance, or other project administration.
• Valid C Class Driver’s Licence.
• Skills in Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 platforms (e.g. SharePoint, Teams, Outlook).
• Experience in records management and compliance processes.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the implementation and ongoing review and improvement of SKAO project HSE plans, procedures and the HSE Management System.
• Supporting SKA-Low teams’ training requirements by coordinating training bookings, qualifications and certificates, maintaining training registers, and coordinating integrated team training exercises to test site Emergency Response Plans.
• Supporting teams to complete risk assessments and making recommendations to reduce risk exposure, and assisting with the timely close-out of investigations and corrective actions.
• Supporting the SKA-Low HSE Committee by maintaining the action register and working with action owners to close out agreed tasks.
• Supporting HSE compliance, document and records management across online systems, including SharePoint, Confluence and Rapid Global, and accurately maintaining records of inspections, assurance, training and other HSE activities.
