Job summary

Icon in the ACT region is seeking an experienced HSE Coordinator to support a large education project through a fixed-term contract through to December, with potential extension. This role involves on-site work with site teams, subcontractors and project leadership to uphold safe work practices across commissioning, fit-out and external works.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of HSE experience, construction industry knowledge, and strong communication and stakeholder management skills to

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in a HSE Coordinator, Safety Coordinator or similar role
• Construction industry experience is essential
• Sound knowledge of WHS legislation and site safety requirements
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to influence and engage subcontractors and site teams
• Proactive and practical approach to safety

Responsibilities

• Coordinate site inductions and onboarding activities
• Conduct regular site inspections and safety observations
• Review SWMS and monitor subcontractor compliance
• Support the implementation of project safety initiatives and procedures
• Assist with incident reporting, investigations and corrective actions

Support the Safe Delivery of an Education Project

We're seeking an experienced HSE Coordinator to join our ACT team on a fixed-term contract through to December, with the potential for extension.

Working on a large education project approaching completion, you'll partner closely with site teams, subcontractors and project leadership to ensure safe work practices are maintained across commissioning, fit‑out and external works activities.

This is a hands‑on role for a safety professional who enjoys being out on site, building relationships and driving a positive safety culture.
