Job summary

Vaughan Infrastructure is seeking a proactive HSE Advisor to ensure health, safety and regulatory compliance across our civil construction sites. You will promote a culture of safety, protect workers and the public, and advise on best practices.

Key duties include audits, site visits, incident investigations, and updating safety documents in collaboration with project teams. A Cert IV in OH&S and 4+ years’ experience in civil construction are required.

Qualifications

• Hold a Cert IV in OH&S or a safety diploma.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Strong experience in the Civil Construction industry.
• Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Advise leaders and workers on HSEQ matters and drive a strong safety culture.
• Maintain knowledge of current legislation, policies and guidelines.
• Facilitate audits and lead toolbox talks.
• Lead site visits, inspections and incident investigations.
• Review plans, risk assessments and SWMS with stakeholders.
• Manage complex safety issues on worksites.
• Support and assist the HSEQ team across projects.

As a HSE Advisor, you will ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and best practices on construction sites.

You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the employees, subcontractors, clients, and the public. Your expertise and guidance will be critical in promoting a culture of safety and minimizing the risk of accidents, injuries, and occupational hazards.

Key Responsibilities

• Positively influence, and advise leaders and workers on HSEQ matters, requirements under legislation, and drive forward a strong safety culture.
• Maintain a sound knowledge of current legislation, policies and guidelines.
• Facilitate audits and assist with site toolbox talks.
• Lead allocated site visits, inspections, incident investigations.
• Review/update Plans, Risk Assessments, Safe Work Method Statements, procedures, and other documents as required in conjunction with other stakeholders.
• Manage complex issues around worksite safety.
• Lead and develop Support and assist the HSEQ team Project teams, providing guidance and knowledge.

To be considered for this role you must

• Hold a minimum Cert IV in OH&S or a safety diploma.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar role
• Have strong experience working in the Civil Construction industry.
• Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
