Job summary

Sodexo is seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to join the Global Strategic Accounts team in Australia. You will support contract mobilisation, operational delivery and assurance activities across the GSA portfolio, providing expert HSE guidance, audits and investigations to ensure compliance with the HSEQ Management System and client requirements.

Ideal candidates will hold a Diploma or higher in WHS, have 3–5 years’ experience in HSE/Compliance, and be proficient in ISO 45001/14001/9001

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher qualification in WHS or related discipline.
• 3–5 years' experience in Health, Safety & Environment, Compliance or Assurance.
• Demonstrated experience conducting audits and assurance activities.
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and HSE Management Systems.
• Experience with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 frameworks.
• Ability to lead investigations, conduct risk assessments and support corrective actions.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills; strong stakeholder engagement.

About the Role

As the HSE Advisor, you will play a critical role in supporting contract mobilisation, operational delivery and assurance activities across the GSA portfolio. Working closely with operational leaders, clients and support teams, you will provide expert HSE guidance, conduct audits, support investigations and help ensure compliance with Sodexo's HSEQ Management System, regulatory obligations and client requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

Provide operational HSE support across the GSA portfolio, including contract mobilisation, transition activities and ongoing operational delivery.

Support tender submissions through the development of HSE plans, risk assessments, mobilisation strategies and client responses.

Coach and advise operational leaders to improve HSE capability, compliance and performance.

Facilitate risk assessments, HAZIDs, Management of Change activities and continuous improvement initiatives.

Support incident investigations, corrective action development and verification of effectiveness.

Develop HSE communications, toolbox talks and safety awareness campaigns.

Execute a risk-based HSE Assurance Program across Eastern Australia.

Conduct internal HSE Management System audits, client compliance audits, contractor verification audits and supplier audits.

Monitor legislative, contractual and management system compliance requirements.

Verify implementation of corrective actions arising from audits, investigations and inspections.

Participate in ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 certification audits.

Analyse audit findings and compliance trends to identify systemic risks and portfolio improvement opportunities.

Prepare assurance and compliance reports for operational and senior leadership teams.

Support the implementation of digital HSE initiatives, including Enablon and other compliance systems.

To be Successful in this Role, You Will Have:

Diploma or higher qualification in Workplace Health & Safety or a related discipline.

Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a Health, Safety & Environment, Compliance or Assurance role.

Demonstrated experience conducting audits, assurance activities and compliance reviews.

Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and HSE Management Systems.

Experience working with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 frameworks.

Proven ability to lead investigations, conduct risk assessments and support corrective action management.

Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, systemic risks and improvement opportunities.

Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and build relationships across a diverse workforce.

Exceptional report writing, communication and presentation skills.

High level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.

Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis qualifications.

ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 Auditor qualifications.

Food Safety or HACCP auditing experience.

Exposure to psychosocial risk management.
