Job summary

Primero is seeking experienced HSE Advisors to join our Projects Team in Australia. This on-site role focuses on implementing Primero HSE procedures, conducting daily site inspections, and delivering key safety topics through toolbox talks and prestart sessions.

You will support fitness for work and welfare checks, coach HSRs, and assist with risk assessments such as JHAs and permits, maintaining safety notices across sites.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Work, Health and Safety is required.
• Provide First Aid/ CPR certificate is required.
• ICAM or TapRoot incident investigation training is desirable.
• OHS Construction Induction White/Blue Card is required.
• Must demonstrate Right to Work in Australia and pass a pre-employment medical & drug/alcohol screen.

Responsibilities

• Understand and communicate Primero HSE procedures and legislative requirements on site per project HSE Management Plans.
• Undertake daily HSE inspections and observations on site.
• Lead and participate in toolbox talks and prestart safety sessions.
• Assist with fitness for work assessments and daily welfare checks.
• Coach and guide HSRs in legislative HSE requirements.
• Support employees in risk assessments (JHA’s, Permits).
• Maintain HSE notice boards.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Understand and communicate Primero HSE procedures and legislative requirements on site in accordance with the project specific HSE Management Plans.
• Undertaking daily HSE inspections and observations on site.
• Play an active role in the delivery of HSE topics in the weekly toolbox and daily prestart sessions.
• Assisting with fitness for work requirements and daily welfare checks.
• Coach and guide HSR’s in their legislative HSE requirements.
• Provide support guidance to employees in the creation of risk assessments (JHA’s, Permits)
• Maintaining HSE notice boards.

What You ‘Can Do’

• Possess a Certificate IV in Work, Health and Safety (Minimum requirement)
• Have a minimum of 5+ years' experience within the construction industry
• Demonstrated site experience in a similar role
• Hold a current Provide First Aid / CPR certificate
• Experienced with Incident Investigation Training (ICAM/Tap Root)
• Have a OHS Construction Induction White / Blue Card
• Demonstrate the Right to Work in Australia
• Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment Medical & Drug and Alcohol Screen
