Job summary

Sharp and Carter is seeking an experienced HRIS & Payroll Specialist on a contract basis to join a project team supporting a major HR systems transformation in Sydney. You will test and validate HR and payroll processes as part of an Oracle migration, working with stakeholders to ensure critical employee processes run accurately.

This hands-on contract role requires strong HR Operations and Australian payroll knowledge, with exposure to payroll, awards, leave management and lifecycle events.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and payroll processes.
• Experience in HR Operations, Payroll, HRIS or Shared Services environments.
• Knowledge of leave management, time and attendance, allowances and payroll processes.
• Experience managing employee lifecycle transactions from onboarding through to termination.
• Exposure to HR systems such as SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle, Workday, ADP or similar.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Confidence working in a changing project environment.

Responsibilities

• Support testing activities for a major HR systems migration project
• Validate HR and payroll processes across the employee lifecycle
• Test and review onboarding, employee changes, transfers and offboarding workflows
• Ensure payroll outputs are aligned with business requirements and legislative obligations
• Review leave accruals, allowances, penalty rates and time & attendance rules
• Identify, document and elevate system defects and process issues
• Work closely with project stakeholders to resolve testing outcomes
• Assist in preparing the business for system go-live
• Contribute HR operational expertise throughout the migration and testing phases
