Empire Group is seeking an experienced HR Manager to guide people strategy during a growth phase. You will partner with the Managing Partner and leadership team to strengthen frameworks, policies and the employee experience across the full lifecycle.

The role focuses on scalable people practices, governance, recruitment and development, with a hands-on approach to delivering practical outcomes and shaping culture that supports growth.

Job description

We're excited to be partnering with a highly regarded professional services firm to appoint a HR Manager at an important point in the firm's growth.This is a broad, hands-on role with genuine scope to influence how the firm attracts, develops, engages and retains its people as it continues its growth journey.

Working closely with the Managing Partner and leadership team, you will be responsible for strengthening the firm's people foundations, enhancing the employee experience and ensuring the organisation has the frameworks, capability and culture required to support future growth.

Key areas of focus include:
  • Reviewing, designing and implementing contemporary People & Culture frameworks, policies and governance practices that support a growing and evolving organisation.
  • Building and enhancing the employee experience across the full employee lifecycle, from attraction and onboarding through to development, engagement and retention.
  • Driving employee engagement initiatives and people programs that foster a high-performing, inclusive and values-led culture.
  • Leading end-to-end recruitment activities, including talent acquisition strategy, workforce planning and management of external recruitment partners.
  • Establishing contemporary performance management, capability and career development frameworks that support employee growth and organisational success.
  • Designing and supporting learning and development initiatives that build organisational capability and leadership effectiveness.
  • Providing trusted, commercially focused advice across employee relations, organisational development and broader people-related matters.
  • Building scalable people practices, processes and programs that support the firm's continued growth while maintaining a strong culture and positive employee experience.
About You

You are a proactive and commercially minded People & Culture professional who thrives in growing organisations. You enjoy building capability, creating structure where needed, and delivering people initiatives that support both business performance and employee experience.

You bring experience developing and implementing contemporary people frameworks, policies and practices that enable organisations to scale effectively while maintaining a strong and engaging culture. Comfortable operating at both a strategic and hands-on level, you can move between advising leaders on workforce challenges and rolling up your sleeves to deliver practical outcomes.

You have a demonstrated ability to enhance employee engagement, strengthen employee value propositions, and develop initiatives that improve attraction, retention and overall workforce experience. You understand that sustainable growth requires strong people foundations and have experience introducing fit-for-purpose processes, governance and people programs that support organisational maturity.

Your background may include:
  • Building or maturing People & Culture functions within Professional Services environments.
  • Developing HR policies, frameworks and governance structures that support business growth.
  • Driving employee engagement, culture and retention initiatives.
  • Designing and implementing performance, capability and career development frameworks.
  • Leading recruitment and talent acquisition activities in competitive talent markets.
  • Partnering with leaders on workforce planning, organisational capability and succession planning.
  • Implementing learning and development programs that support employee growth and future workforce needs.
  • Providing practical, commercially focused advice across employee relations and broader people matters.
  • Using workforce insights, employee feedback and reporting to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
