Job summary

Sims Limited in Australia is seeking an experienced HR Driver to operate hook and flatbed trucks, collect scrap metal bins, and deliver reliable service across customer sites. You will work safely on a variety of routes, maintain vehicles, and report issues promptly.

You should hold a current HR Licence, demonstrate a safety-first mindset, and communicate professionally with customers. The role offers a home-every-night schedule and opportunities for ongoing training and career growth.

Responsibilities

• Operate HR hook and flatbed trucks to collect and exchange scrap metal bins across customer sites.
• Build relationships with customers through professional and reliable service.
• Complete scheduled collections safely and efficiently to keep operations moving.
• Identify and report safety, environmental or operational issues on site.
• Work as part of a supportive team committed to safety and compliance standards.
• Follow daily run sheets and collection schedules to ensure timely service delivery.
• Conduct pre-start vehicle inspections and maintain vehicles in a safe operating condition.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate HR hook and flatbed trucks to collect and exchange scrap metal bins across a variety of customer sites.

• Keep our operations moving by completing scheduled collections safely and efficiently.
• Identify and report any safety, environmental or operational issues on site.
• Work as part of a supportive team committed to maintaining the highest safety and compliance standards
• Follow daily run sheets and collection schedules to ensure timely service delivery.
• Conduct pre-start vehicle inspections and maintain vehicles in a safe operating condition.

About You

• Current HR Licence with experience operating hook trucks, flatbeds or similar heavy vehicles.
• A safety-first mindset and strong understanding of safe work practices.
• Great communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
• The ability to work autonomously, manage your time effectively and adapt to changing priorities.
• A positive attitude and willingness to be part of a hardworking team.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing.
