Job summary

Sims Limited invites applications for an HR Driver who will responsibly collect and deliver scrap metal bins across Sydney. You will act as the face of the business, ensuring safe operations, regulatory compliance, and excellent customer service.

Key requirements include a current HR licence (essential), forklift licence (advantage), and demonstrated experience operating heavy vehicles. You will work in a safety-first environment with regular pre-start inspections and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Requires valid HR licence and forklift licence (preferred).
• Experience operating heavy vehicles and delivering scrap bins.
• Strong safety mindset and commitment to WHS standards.

Responsibilities

• Collect full scrap metal bins and deliver empty bins safely.
• Follow run sheets and schedules for timely service.
• Conduct pre-start vehicle inspections and maintain vehicles.
• Operate vehicles in compliance with road laws and procedures.
• Build relationships with customers through reliable service.
• Report incidents, hazards, or compliance issues promptly.
• Complete transport documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain a safety-oriented approach across all tasks.

About The Role

As an HR Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient collection, transport and delivery of scrap metal bins across our customer network. Acting as the face of the business, you'll provide exceptional customer service while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect full scrap metal bins and deliver empty bins safely and efficiently.
• Follow daily run sheets and collection schedules to ensure timely service delivery.
• Conduct pre-start vehicle inspections and maintain vehicles in a safe operating condition.
• Operate company vehicles in accordance with road laws, site requirements and company procedures.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers through reliable and professional service.
• Report incidents, hazards, customer concerns and compliance issues promptly.
• Complete transport documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain a strong commitment to safety, environmental and operational standards.

About You

• Current HR Licence (essential).
• Forklift Licence (highly regarded).
• Demonstrated experience operating heavy vehicles.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage daily workloads effectively.
• Reliable, professional and safety-focused approach.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing.
