Job summary

Sims Limited is seeking an experienced HR Driver to operate hook trucks and flatbeds across diverse customer sites in Australia. You will work independently with a strong safety focus and deliver reliable service, while maintaining vehicle standards and reporting issues as needed.

The role emphasizes autonomous work, timely collections, and maintaining high safety and compliance standards in a dynamic environment. Local travel and shift flexibility are expected.

Qualifications

• Current HR licence with experience operating hook trucks, flatbeds or similar heavy vehicles.
• Safety-first mindset and strong understanding of safe work practices.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage time effectively and adapt to changing priorities.
• Willingness to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Operate HR hook and flatbed trucks to collect and exchange scrap metal bins across a variety of customer sites.
• Build relationships with customers through professional and reliable service.
• Keep our operations moving by completing scheduled collections safely and efficiently.
• Identify and report any safety, environmental or operational issues on site.
• Work as part of a supportive team committed to maintaining the highest safety and compliance standards
• Follow daily run sheets and collection schedules to ensure timely service delivery.
• Conduct pre-start vehicle inspections and maintain vehicles in a safe operating condition.
