Job summary

Kinetic is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to provide coaching and guidance to people leaders across the CQ/SA/NT business unit. This hands-on advisory role supports the effective resolution of employee relations matters across a large, operational and unionised workforce.

The role also drives strategic contribution to business issues, talent, capability, and engagement, focusing on leadership capability, performance and compliant outcomes.

Qualifications

  • ER/IR experience in a complex or unionised environment.
  • Advising leaders on disciplinary, performance and grievance matters.
  • Deep knowledge of Fair Work Act, modern awards and agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to regional leaders and employees on day-to-day and complex cases.
  • Enable leaders to manage performance, disciplinary, grievance and misconduct matters with compliant outcomes.
  • Lead complex workplace investigations using best practice principles.
  • Build leader capability through coaching, training and practical tools.
  • Analyse workforce trends and provide insights to improve outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace legislation, awards and enterprise agreements.
  • Foster positive relations with unions and employee representatives.
  • Contribute to a culture aligned with values, safety, wellbeing and inclusion.
  • Deliver cyclical people activities to improve engagement and retention.

The opportunity

Kinetic is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to provide coaching and guidance to people leaders across the CQ/SA/NT business unit. This hands‑on advisory role supports the

effective resolution of employee relations matters across a large, operational and unionised workforce, while building leader capability and ensuring values‑aligned outcomes.

The Business Partner will also drive and support a strategic contribution to business issues, talent, capability, and engagement.

About the role
  • Provide guidance to regional leaders and employees on a wide range of matters, from day-to-day issues through to complex and sensitive cases
  • Enable leaders to manage performance, disciplinary, grievance and misconduct matters, ensuring fair, timely and legally compliant outcomes
  • Lead complex workplace investigations, applying sound judgement and best practice investigation principles
  • Build leader capability through coaching, training and practical tools aligned to the Kinetic Way
  • Analyse workforce trends and data to provide insights and recommendations to improve outcomes
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with workplace legislation, awards and enterprise agreements
  • Build strong working relationships with unions and employee representatives to support effective consultation and dispute resolution
  • Actively contribute to a positive workplace culture aligned with Kinetic’s values and commitment to safety, wellbeing and inclusion
  • Deliver cyclical people activities to drive high levels of employee performance, engagement, diversity and retention
About you
  • Pragmatic, commercially minded HR professional with a strong ER/IR focus accustomed to operating in a complex or unionised environment
  • Proven track record in advising leaders to manage employee relations matters including disciplinary, performance and grievance processes
  • Deep working knowledge of the Fair Work Act, modern awards and enterprise agreements
  • Skilled in building leader capability through coaching, guidance and practical tools which drive consistent outcomes, balancing commerciality and risk
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Committed to improving diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in either Human Resources, Employment Law, Business, Organisational Psychology or a related field
