Job summary

Precision Sourcing Australia is seeking a hands-on infrastructure engineer to support Nectar research cloud compute and large-scale storage environments in Sydney. You will manage physical hardware, apply Ansible playbooks to maintain fleet consistency, and ensure systems can be rebuilt reliably in a high-performance compute setting.

The role covers GPUs, enterprise Linux, and a broad storage estate with strong documentation culture. Team cohesion is valued and cross-team collaboration is common.

Qualifications

• Ansible experience focused on infrastructure and hardware.
• Hands-on experience with physical servers, storage and enterprise Linux.
• Broad storage experience, including tape libraries.
• Strong server skills and hands-on work with bare-metal servers in a data centre.
• Comfort working in a complex, high-performance compute environment.
• HSM software experience is valuable, though the team has an expert who can help someone learn it.
