Job summary

Cater Care in Canberra is seeking a Full-Time Utility All Rounder to join our on-site facilities team. You will help set up dining areas, operate dishwashing equipment, and maintain kitchen and dining spaces to high hygiene standards.

The role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment; a White Card is required and a valid driver’s license is desirable. Successful applicants may be required to obtain a police clearance and pre-employment medical

Qualifications

• 12 months+ experience in utility/cleaner/housekeeper/related roles.
• Commitment to genuine, friendly customer service.
• A positive, can-do attitude and reliability.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
• Maintain personal appearance and hygiene to a professional standard.
• Driver's license (auto or manual) is preferred.
• Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
• White Card is mandatory (obtainable or willing to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain, and clear dining areas.
• Operate dishwashing equipment; keep kitchen facilities and dining spaces clean.
• Adhere to legislated food safety and hygiene standards.
• Provide efficient, friendly service during peak periods.
• Support team across departments as needed.
• Prepare and serve texture-modified meals per dietary requirements.
• Dining room duties: cleanliness, stock replenishment, crib food levels.
• Housekeeping: clean guest rooms and ensuites, make beds.
• General cleaning: waste management, sweeping, mopping, etc.

Job Description

As part of your daily routine as a Utility All Rounder at Cater Care; you will be responsible for a diverse range of tasks, including:

• Setting up, maintaining, and clearing dining areas
• Operating dishwashing equipment and ensuring the cleanliness of kitchen facilities, utensils, and dining spaces
• Adhering to all legislated food safety and hygiene standards
• Providing efficient and friendly service during high-demand periods
• Supporting team members across departments as needed
• Preparing and serving texture-modified meals in accordance with dietary requirements
• Dining Room Duties: maintaining cleanliness, replenishing stock, and ensuring crib food levels are sufficient
• Housekeeping: cleaning guest rooms and ensuites, making beds as required
• General Cleaning: managing waste, sweeping, mopping, and other cleaning duties in communal areas

This diverse role offers the opportunity to contribute to multiple aspects of site operations while building valuable experience in a fast-paced environment.

Desired Skills And Experience

The Ideal Applicant Will Have:

• Experience working as a Utility/ Utility All Rounder/Cleaner/Housekeeper 12 months +
• A commitment to genuine, friendly customer service
• A motivated, enthusiastic and positive 'can-do' attitude
• Ability to work in a fast-paced time-sensitive environment
• Pride in personal appearance & hygiene
• Drivers License (Auto or Man)
• Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident
