Minor Hotels Port Douglas is seeking dedicated housekeeping staff to join our team on a casual basis. You will maintain high cleanliness standards in guest rooms, make beds with precision, vacuum floors, and clean bathrooms, while working as part of a friendly team.

Shifts are rotating across weekdays and weekends, starting mornings; hourly rates range from $33.85 to $47.39 depending on day. Training provided, focus on safety and guest satisfaction, with opportunities for growth within the Minor

Qualifications

• Prior experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles is highly regarded.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of safe handling and usage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Good physical fitness and stamina for repetitive tasks.
• Professional and clear communication with guests and team.
• Strong time management and ability to prioritise tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards by thoroughly cleaning guest rooms, including making beds, vacuuming, and bathroom cleaning.
• Complete cleaning tasks efficiently within hours allocated by the company.
• Collaborating with team members to meet daily cleaning targets and operational goals.
• Adhering to safety protocols and environmental standards.
• Using specialised cleaning equipment and products safely and effectively - with training provided.
• Building strong, professional relationships with team members, guests and contractors.

Oaks Port Douglas is excited to expand our housekeeping department, with multiple casual opportunities now available.

About the job:

• Maintain high standards by thoroughly cleaning guest rooms, including making beds with precision, vacuuming floors, and cleaning bathrooms to ensure a pristine environment.
• Complete cleaning tasks efficiently within the hours allocated by the company.
• Collaborating with team members to meet daily cleaning targets and operational goals.
• Adhering to safety protocols and environmental standards.
• Using specialised cleaning equipment and products safely and effectively - with all training and tools provided.
• Building strong, professional relationships with team members, guests, and contractors to help foster a positive, respectful work environment.

Shift Details (subject to change):

• Rotating roster across Monday to Sunday
• Shifts starting between 8:00 am and 9.00am
• Hourly Rates (excluding superannuation):
• Monday - Friday: $33.85 per hour
• Saturday: $40.62 per hour
• Sunday: $47.39 per hour

Successful candidates will have:

• Prior experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles will be highly regarded.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Basic understanding of safe handling and usage of cleaning chemicals and equipment (training will be provided).
• Good physical fitness and stamina, with the ability to perform repetitive tasks such as bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
• Professional and clear communication skills to interact with guests, team members, and contractors.
• Strong time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
• A positive and proactive attitude with a strong work ethic.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
