Job summary

Oaks Port Douglas is expanding our housekeeping team with casual opportunities. We’re looking for dedicated, detail‑oriented individuals who take pride in delivering an exceptional guest experience and keeping rooms spotless.

Shifts run on a rotating roster across Monday to Sunday, with start times between 8:00am and 9:00am. Hourly rates are AU$33.85–AU$47.39, with higher rates on weekends.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles highly regarded.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Basic understanding of safe handling and usage of cleaning chemicals and equipment (training provided).
• Good physical fitness and stamina for repetitive tasks.
• Professional and clear communication with guests, team members and contractors.
• Strong time management and ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
• Positive and proactive attitude with a strong work ethic.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly clean guest rooms, including making beds, vacuuming floors, and cleaning bathrooms.
• Complete cleaning tasks efficiently within allocated hours.
• Collaborate with team to meet daily cleaning targets and operational goals.
• Adhere to safety protocols and environmental standards.
• Use specialised cleaning equipment and products safely with training provided.
• Build professional relationships with team members, guests and contractors.

About the job

• Maintain high standards by thoroughly cleaning guest rooms, including making beds with precision, vacuuming floors, and cleaning bathrooms to ensure a pristine environment.
• Complete cleaning tasks efficiently within the hours allocated by the company.
• Collaborating with team members to meet daily cleaning targets and operational goals.
• Adhering to safety protocols and environmental standards.
• Using specialised cleaning equipment and products safely and effectively - with all training and tools provided.
• Building strong, professional relationships with team members, guests, and contractors to help foster a positive, respectful work environment.

Shift Details (subject to change)

• Rotating roster across Monday to Sunday
• Shifts starting between 8:00am and 9.00am

Hourly Rates (excluding superannuation)

Monday - Friday: $33.85 per hour
Saturday: $40.62 per hour
Sunday: $47.39 per hour

Qualifications

• Prior experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles will be highly regarded.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Basic understanding of safe handling and usage of cleaning chemicals and equipment (training will be provided).
• Good physical fitness and stamina, with the ability to perform repetitive tasks such as bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
• Professional and clear communication skills to interact with guests, team members, and contractors.
• Strong time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
• A positive and proactive attitude with a strong work ethic.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
