Job summary

Berengarra Aged Care in Melbourne is seeking a part-time Housekeeper to support resident care on the Mental Health Unit within the aged care facility. The role includes food preparation, cleaning, and laundry tasks across a 16-hour week, with rostered shifts and salary packaging benefits.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, ensuring infection control standards and high-quality cleaning and dining services for residents.

Qualifications

• Food Handling Certificate (essential)
• Experience in cleaning, and food and beverage handling—preparation (preferably in an aged care setting)
• Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team
• Current NDIS Check, or willing to obtain

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing short order meals for residents and coordinate daily menu/beverage choices.
• Wash residents' meal plates and kitchen utensils; keep kitchen, pantry, equipment and fridges clean.
• Assist cleaning team with resident rooms, bathrooms, living, dining and staff areas; perform sweeping, vacuuming and mopping.
• Support laundry duties including trolleys, washing, drying, folding and returning laundry to rooms.
• Maintain infection control procedures and uphold resident comfort and safety.
