Job summary

Uniting Armidale is seeking a compassionate Household Dining Assistant to support meal preparation and dining services for residents in a welcoming aged care home. You will work across Kitchen, Cleaning and Laundry to help maintain a clean, comfortable living environment and assist with residents’ laundry needs.

The role emphasizes dignity, independence and wellbeing, with shifts rostered as required and a focus on delivering high-quality service in a supportive team setting.

Qualifications

• Food safety supervisor certification (desirable, not mandatory).
• Knowledge of safe food handling practices and a passion for preparing nutritious meals.

Surrounded by tranquil leafy gardens, Uniting Autumn Lodge is a warm and welcoming aged care home that has been supporting older people in Armidale for more than 60 years, building strong ties with the local community. We provide high-quality, round-the-clock care for up to 114 residents in private rooms with shared communal spaces. Our compassionate team works closely with residents to understand their individual care needs, tailor support to ensure comfort, and arrange engaging activities that are meaningful and enjoyable

Position Overview:

As a Household Dining Assistant, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming, clean and comfortable environment for our residents. Working across Kitchen, Cleaning and Laundry services, you’ll support meal preparation and service, maintain clean, and inviting living and dining spaces, and assist with residents’ laundry needs. This resident-focused role helps promote choice, dignity, independence, and wellbeing while delivering high-quality services across the home.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Food safety supervisor certification (desirable, not mandatory)
• Previous experience in aged care is a bonus
• Knowledge of safe food handling practices and a passion for preparing quality nutritious meals
• Familiarity with aged care dietary requirements and food safety standards (desirable, not mandatory)
• You’re empathetic, adaptable, and resourceful, with a commitment to delivering excellent service.
