Job summary

Hyatt Melbourne is seeking a Shift Engineer to support the Engineering Department in maintaining the hotel to Hyatt brand standards. You will operate plant machinery and perform repairs across front and back of house, working with the team to meet guest needs and ensure safety.

Qualifications

• Trade qualified is highly desirable, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a general maintenance role.
• Experience within a facilities maintenance environment would be advantageous.
• Strong time management skills, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Excellent customer service, communication and service resolution skills.
• Demonstrated ability to perform a broad range of general maintenance and repair work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a range of maintenance and repair work throughout the hotel, primarily within your core skill set, while demonstrating the flexibility to work across multiple disciplines.
• Attend to all guest and colleague requests in a timely and professional manner, creating a positive first impression through every interaction.
• Perform routine inspections of public areas, monitor plant operations, conduct regular plant inspections, and carry out repairs and maintenance as required.
• Assist other trades in the completion of tasks and report any plant or equipment malfunctions as they arise.
• Coordinate and supervise contractors where required, ensuring compliance with hotel procedures relating to guest interaction and safety.
• Maintain flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
