Job summary

Hyatt Centric Melbourne is seeking a Shift Engineer to ensure the hotel is well maintained and guest needs are met in line with Hyatt standards. You will operate plant machinery, perform repairs, and support the Engineering team across front and back of house areas.

This role offers development within an international company, with a rotating roster that includes weekends and public holidays in Australia. Trade qualification and 5 years in maintenance are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification is highly desirable plus 5 years in general maintenance.
• Experience in facilities maintenance is advantageous.
• Strong time management and ability to work independently.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Team player able to collaborate and support others.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance and repairs across hotel facilities.
• Attend to guest and colleague requests promptly and professionally.
• Inspect public areas and monitor plant operations; perform repairs as needed.
• Assist other trades and report malfunctions.
• Coordinate and supervise contractors while ensuring safety procedures.
• Maintain a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays.
