Job summary

Novotel Melbourne South Wharf is seeking a hands-on Handyperson to maintain our hotel’s rooms, public areas and facilities. You’ll work mostly independently, resolving maintenance issues quickly while coordinating with hotel teams to minimise guest disruption.

The role offers a full-time permanent position with a rotating Monday–Sunday roster and a base hourly rate of 27.97 AUD per hour, with scope to negotiate above award for experienced applicants. Join Accor's hospitality family.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in general building maintenance or facilities maintenance.
• Hospitality or customer-focused background preferred.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Strong communication and guest service commitment.
• Proficiency with tools safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Perform general repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the hotel.
• Inspect daily plant and equipment and report faults.
• Respond to maintenance requests in guest rooms and public areas.
• Prioritise tasks and promptly address urgent maintenance issues.
• Maintain accurate records of completed and outstanding maintenance work.
• Ensure tools and workshop areas are safe and tidy.
• Collaborate with departments to minimise disruption to guests.
• Follow WHS and environmental/hotel compliance requirements.
