Job summary

Hilton, a global leader in hospitality, is seeking a Director of Finance in Sydney to lead the hotel's accounting and financial reporting, ensuring compliance with GAAP and financial controls. This role partners with hotel leadership to drive strategic financial decisions and protect assets.

You will oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, mentor a high-performing team, and foster a culture of integrity, leadership, and accountability across departments.

Qualifications

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in hotel finance, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
• Professional accounting qualification preferred.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Proficient in hotel systems such as PEP, Birch St, Navision, Agilysys.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Deep understanding of financial controls, compliance, and reporting standards.
• Proven ability to lead teams and collaborate across departments.

Responsibilities

• Drive financial strategy: Oversee all financial operations, ensuring alignment with the hotel’s strategic goals.
• Oversee financial planning and analysis: Direct the preparation of annual plans, projections, and budgets.
• Advise hotel leadership: Serve as the primary financial advisor to hotel management, ownership, and department heads.
• Ensure financial compliance: Uphold adherence to GAAP and safeguard hotel assets through controls.
• Optimize financial reporting: Oversee systems and processes to drive accuracy and transparency.
• Monitor and approve financial transactions: Oversee and authorize hotel sales, purchases, salaries, and expenses.
• Cultivate a high-performing team: Drive engagement and retention through performance management and development.
