Job summary

St John of God Health Care in Canberra is seeking a Storeperson to maintain stock availability across the hospital by replenishing ward imprests, receiving deliveries and distributing supplies to the right locations.

This permanent, full-time role is 38 hours per week and requires a current driver's and forklift licence; you will use the inventory system, ensure accurate documentation, and provide friendly, professional service to hospital staff.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and customer service skills; able to build relationships with stakeholders.
• Must have a current driver’s licence and forklift licence.
• Excellent numerical and computer skills for stock and data entry.
• Physically active role requiring manual handling and logistics tasks.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and process incoming goods, ensuring stock is accurate and documented.
• Replenish ward and department imprest stock to agreed levels using the inventory system.
• Pick, pack, and distribute stock to hospital departments efficiently.
• Maintain stock control: storage, rotation, counts and records.
• Coordinate urgent deliveries, supplier returns, and direct site deliveries.
• Ensure stores and stock locations are safe, organised and compliant.
• Monitor discrepancies, damaged goods and inventory issues; report as needed.
• Deliver high-quality customer service to hospital caregivers and staff.
