Job summary

The Murrumbidgee Local Health District is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant/Technician to join the busy team at Wagga Wagga Base Hospital. You will support pharmacists in safe medication management and day-to-day pharmacy operations to serve the local community.

Key duties include dispensing, distribution, sterile and non-sterile production, and adherence to hospital policies. You will work both independently and as part of a collaborative team, with a focus on quality and patient service.

Qualifications

• Experience in dispensing, non-sterile production, and distribution processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and patient interaction.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong time management and prioritisation.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks of drug distribution necessary to ensure the safe and accurate distribution of medication.
• Provide patient service, pharmaceutical dispensing and production activities in their designated areas as outlined in the departmental Policy and Procedures Manual.
• Ensure that medications are used and managed in accordance with legislative requirements and hospital policies.
• Prepare sterile and non-sterile products according to the Department's Master Formulations.
• Participate in departmental quality assurance and key performance indicator programs.
• Participate in performance development processes to contribute to own professional growth and service outcomes.
