Job summary

Murrumbidgee Local Health District invites applications for a Pharmacy Assistant/Pharmacy Technician to join the team at Wagga Wagga Base Hospital. This permanent part-time role supports pharmacists with dispensing, production, and patient service, contributing to safe medication management.

You will work up to 18 hours per week, starting January 2027, with a pro rata package including superannuation and leave loading.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Competency in dispensing, non-sterile production, and distribution processes.
• Excellent customer service and patient interaction skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritise workflow and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks of drug distribution necessary to ensure the safe and accurate distribution of medication.
• Provide patient service, pharmaceutical dispensing and production activities in their designated areas as outlined in the departmental Policy and Procedures Manual.
• Ensure that medications are used and managed in accordance with legislative requirements and hospital policies.
• Prepare sterile and non-sterile products according to the Department's Master Formulations.
• Participate in departmental quality assurance and key performance indicator programs.
• Participate in performance development processes to contribute to own professional growth and service outcomes.
