Job description

Help shape the future of veterinary care at Coomera, where we are creating an open hospital designed to strengthen the connection between pets, their families and the veterinary team.

Animal Emergency Service (AES) Coomera is a new, purpose-built 24/7 emergency veterinary hospital being developed on the northern Gold Coast. Through our open hospital approach, we aim to make care more visible, communication more open and pet owners more involved in their pet's emergency care journey where safe and appropriate.

Located within the Coomera Home Ideas Centre, the hospital has been designed to support exceptional patient care, stronger connections with pet owners and a collaborative environment for veterinary teams.

As part of our growth journey, we are seeking an experienced and engaging Hospital Manager to lead the successful launch and ongoing operation of this exciting new facility.

Emergency care is about more than clinical treatment. It is also about helping owners understand what is happening, the options available and what may come next. You will lead a team that recognises each client as an integral part of their pet's journey, keeping them informed and inviting appropriate participation in treatment decisions.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to join AES Coomera before opening and play the lead role in establishing a new emergency veterinary hospital from the ground up.

Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading the hospital's operational, people and commercial performance while working closely with the clinical leadership team to deliver exceptional outcomes for patients, clients and employees.

As the Hospital Manager, you will:

  • Lead the successful opening and ongoing operation of AES Coomera
  • Build, develop and lead a high-performing team of clinical, operational and support employees
  • Drive employee engagement and establish a positive, inclusive hospital culture
  • Ensure operational excellence through efficient workflows, rostering and resource allocation
  • Partner with the clinical leadership team to support quality patient care and client outcomes
  • Drive initiatives that improve client satisfaction, retention and referral partnerships
  • Create a hospital environment where collaboration, communication and continuous improvement thrive

This full-time, onsite role is based at AES Coomera. You will be required to work alternate weekends and varied hours between 6:00am and 9:00pm to support hospital operations.

About You

We welcome applications any experienced leaders ideally from veterinary, healthcare, operations, service or business management who are ready to build and lead a new team.

You will also bring:

  • Strong people leadership and employee engagement capability
  • The ability to lead teams through change and growth
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Commercial and operational acumen
  • High emotional intelligence and a collaborative leadership style
  • A passion for building positive workplace cultures and high-performing teams
Why Join AES Coomera?

As part of the founding team, you will have the opportunity to help shape the hospital's culture, ways of working and approach to emergency care from day one.

  • Join from the start and help shape how AES Coomera grows
  • Work in a purpose-built hospital designed for clearer client communication
  • Be part of a team that keeps pet owners connected and informed
  • Help build a new hospital culture centred on teamwork and care
  • Access the support, expertise and opportunities available through Australia's largest employee-owned emergency veterinary network
Benefits
