Job summary

ISS Facility Services Australia and New Zealand is seeking casual hospital cleaners for Box Hill Hospital in Melbourne. You will join our ISS Health Team to provide cleaning services in patient and non-patient areas, following infection control procedures.

Shifts run 6:30am–2:30pm and 2:30pm–10:30pm. No prior cleaning experience is required as paid training is provided, with opportunities for career development in a close-knit team.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate a positive attitude and drive to deliver strong customer service.
• Ability to work day or evening shifts between 6:30am and 10:30pm.
• Police Clearance essential or ability to obtain.
• Immunisation for Influenza or willingness to obtain as per VIC Health Worker policy is essential.

Responsibilities

• Work early mornings or evenings as needed.
• Handle chemicals/hazardous substances safely during cleaning duties.
• Decontaminate surfaces after clinical waste spillage.
• Identify and report issues related to cleaning services and safety.
• Provide cleaning services in patient and non-patient areas, adhering to infection control and waste removal.
• Assist with infectious cleaning in designated areas and follow safety procedures.
• Support weekend and public holiday cleaning duties as required.

Our ISS Health Team is growing, and we are currently seeking casual Hospital Cleaners to join our team at Box Hill Hospital (Box Hill).

We are looking for individuals who are able to work across the week, day shifts 6:30am-2:30pm, and afternoon shifts starting at 2:30pm -10:30pm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ability to work early mornings or evening shifts
• Safe handling of chemical and/or hazardous substances in the performance of cleaning duties
• Decontamination of surfaces after the initial clinical waste spillage has been removed by clinical staff
• Identifying and recording any problems relating to cleaning services and/or safety
• Provide cleaning services in both patient and non-patient areas, adhering to infection control procedures, conducting waste removal, and undertaking infectious cleaning in designated areas
