Job summary

Green by Nature in Centennial Park, Sydney, is seeking a Horticulturalist to care for iconic gardens and landscapes that welcome thousands of visitors.

You’ll work outdoors across diverse beds and lawns, pruning, planting and maintaining presentations, while following safety standards and delivering high-quality results.

Ideal candidates hold a Certificate III in Horticulture or Parks & Gardens, a current driver’s licence, and are prepared to obtain WWVP, Police Check and White Card.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Horticulture or Parks & Gardens required.
• Strong plant knowledge and gardening skills.
• Current driver’s licence.
• WWVP, Police Check and White Card, or willingness to obtain them.
• Positive attitude and ability to work well with others.

Responsibilities

• Care for garden beds, plants and landscapes.
• Pruning, planting and general garden maintenance.
• Identify and treat pests and diseases.
• Operate mowers, hedgers, whipper snippers, blowers and hand tools.
• Deliver consistently high standards of presentation.
• Work safely with others.

What you’ll be doing

No two days in the park are quite the same. You’ll work across a variety of landscaped areas, helping maintain the presentation and health of this remarkable location.

Your day may include:

• Caring for garden beds, plants and landscaped areas
• Pruning, planting and general garden maintenance
• Identifying and treating pests and diseases
• Operating mowers, hedgers, whipper snippers, blowers and hand tools
• Delivering consistently high standards of presentation
• Working safely and looking out for those around you

What you’ll bring

You’re a reliable, hands-on gardening professional who enjoys being outdoors and takes real pride in the finished result.

Ideally, you’ll have:

• A Certificate III in Horticulture or Parks & Gardens, or relevant practical experience
• Strong plant knowledge and gardening skills
• Confidence using common horticultural tools and equipment
• Good attention to detail and pride in presentation
• A current driver’s licence
