Job summary

Rubicon Recruitment is seeking a hands-on Horticulturalist Technician to service client offices in Sydney. You will transport and care for plants, install and maintain displays, and ensure presentations stay pristine. Training is provided for the right candidate with a passion for plants.

You should be fit, able to work unsupervised or with a team, and hold a valid driver’s license. A Cert III in Horticulture is preferred; hours are roughly 7:30am–3:30pm with no weekend work.

Qualifications

• Cert III in Horticulture preferred, but training provided for the right candidate.
• Must be fit and healthy; pre-employment medical required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; manual licence a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Transport and care for plants at client sites using company vehicles.
• Maintain plants and containers; install/replace plants, prune, water, fertilize, dust.
• Prepare plants and containers for installation at client sites.
• Load/unload vehicles and perform equipment maintenance.
• Ensure client premises are cleaned during/after work; report time sheets.
• Act as brand ambassador with strong customer service.
• Work independently or in a team; typical hours 7:30am–3:30pm with some flexibility.

Are you passionate about Plants? If you are, then this might be the role for you!

Our client is a successful award-winning Indoor Plant Hire company providing plant hire services tosmall businesses and corporate clients throughout Sydney. Due to solid growth, their team is expanding and they require a full-time Horticulturalist Technician to join the business for an immediate start.

Your role will include:

Driving company vehicles to transport and care for plants at client sites, mainly in offices.

Maintaining plants and containers at a high standard of presentation, including: Installing and replacing plants / pots at client sites, dusting, watering, pruning, fertilizing and polishing plants in containers, plant protection and spraying against pests and disease, removing damaged foliage, weeding and litter control. Ensuring clients' premises are cleaned during and after work is performed and removing plants from client sites as instructed by the employer for return to the employer's premises.

Stock preparation - preparing plants and containers for installation into client’s sites.

Loading and unloading vehicles.

Equipment care and maintenance.

Vehicle cleaning and upkeep.

General yard and equipment maintenance and duties.

Adherence to relevant safety equipment and clothing standards.

Report on supplied time sheets activities in a timely and accurate manner.

As the successful candidate, you will be a Brand Ambassador for the business, and you must have a passion for plants!

You will be well-presented and have great people skills in dealing with clients whilst tending to their plants. You will be well-organised, self-motivated, have a great attitude and a positive outlook to your work, as well as being able to work independent as well as in a team.

A Horticultural qualification (Cert III in Horticulture) is preferred, however for the right person with the right attitude, enthusiasm and work ethic,our client will provide theopportunityand training for you to become an expert in the industry.

About You:

Have a passion for Plants.

Cert 3 horticulture preferred but not essential.

Some horticultural experience preferred, but not essential.

You must be fit and healthy - a pre-employment medical will be required.

Able to work unsupervised in a confident and competent manner.

Have a great work attitude and good customer service skills - be good with people, friendly, enthusiastic, and well groomed.

Have a current Driver's license (manual licence a bonus) with good driving record.
