Job summary

AW Steicke & Sons in Woorinen North, VIC, seeks a Facility Supervisor to oversee product handling, grading, QA and dispatch at our horticultural processing facility. The role ensures correct handling from reception through packing and dispatch in compliance with customer specs and food safety standards.

You will lead a small team, manage the cool chain, QA records, and waste handling, and collaborate with Harvest, Maintenance and Dispatch Managers.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising horticultural produce handling and dispatch.
• Knowledge of grading, QA records and traceability.
• Ability to ensure cool-chain management and hygiene.
• Ability to train staff to standard procedures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee product handling to meet customers’ requirements, including grading, packing, cool chain, hygiene and dispatch.
• Assess incoming produce quality and plan grading resources.
• Monitor quality through washing and grading stages.
• Address issues from mechanical damage or grading quality.
• Liaise with Harvest, Maintenance and Dispatch Managers.
• Maintain QA records for traceability.
• Manage cool chain when handling and dispatching.
• Ensure staff are trained to SOPs.
• Ensure waste handling complies with procedures.
• Ensure dispatches are completed per procedures.
