Job summary

Fulton Hogan Ltd is hiring Horizontal Directional Drill Operators for Water/Civil Projects across Australia. You will operate HDDs, interpret plans, locate underground assets, and ensure safety and environmental standards are met on-site.

Role requires experience with Vermeer drill rigs and Digi Track locating systems, a manual driving license, and a proactive, safety-driven mindset. Training and career progression opportunities are available within our Living Safely culture.

Qualifications

• Operation of Horizontal Directional Drills.
• Experience using vacuum excavation units and excavators also beneficial.
• Set up of job sites in accordance with established safety and environmental requirements.
• Interpreting BYDA plans and locating underground assets before works commence.
• Completing JSEAs and Pre-Start forms.
• Maintenance of site vehicles and plant to ensure they are kept clean and in safe working order.
• Reporting day to day productivity and issues through to engineers and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Operate Horizontal Directional Drills on Water/Civil Projects.
• Utilise Digi Track locating systems to identify underground assets.
• Set up jobsites in line with safety/environmental standards.
• Complete JSEAs and Pre-Start checks; report hazards.
• Maintain and inspect site vehicles and drilling equipment.
