Current Performance Snapshot

68 beds - Approximately 59% occupancy | Low Agency usage | Not yet inspected by CQC

The Role

You will lead Sandmere’s next stage of development, bringing together high standards of care, a confident workforce and a clear plan for sustainable occupancy growth. Remaining visible to residents, families and colleagues, you will set expectations, support your managers and ensure that quality is reflected in the experience of everyone who lives here.

Attracting self-funding residents will be a key part of your role. You will lead local sales and marketing activity, build relationships with professionals and community partners, and help families make informed, confident decisions about care. Every enquiry, visit and admission should reflect the warmth and professionalism of the home.

Alongside this, you will take responsibility for governance, budgets and workforce planning, using quality, occupancy and staffing data to make informed decisions. You will develop a stable team, minimise reliance on agency and prepare the home for its first CQC inspection, embedding good practice in everyday care.

About You

You will be a proven Home Manager with credible experience of leading sizeable care homes towards full occupancy, achieving strong inspection outcomes and building stable teams. Experience of premium care and the self-funding market is important, together with commissioning experience and a track record of CQC registration and achieving Good or Outstanding ratings in previous services.

You will understand nursing, residential and dementia care and bring a quality-minded approach to commercial leadership. Confident with IT and data, you will know how to identify opportunities, organise competing priorities and translate a plan into measurable progress.

We are looking for a compassionate, authentic leader who communicates clearly, develops others and earns trust. You will be comfortable influencing families, professionals and colleagues at every level, with the confidence to lead change while keeping residents at the heart of your decisions.

Why Lead Sandmere

Sandmere gives you the scope to shape a home that is still establishing its place in the local community. With 40 residents already living here, you will have an existing service to build on and a clear opportunity to grow.

Its gardens, welcoming lounges, cinema and private dining space offer a setting where residents can enjoy their interests and spend meaningful time with family. Your leadership will help turn those surroundings into an experience that families recommend and colleagues feel proud to deliver.

If you enjoy developing a premium service, building local relationships and seeing the results of your leadership, Sandmere offers a rewarding next chapter.
