Job summary

Silverchain Group is seeking a Care Worker in Nelson Bay, NSW, to support aged care clients at home. You will perform housekeeping, laundry, meal prep and grocery shopping, alongside personal care tasks such as mobility, medication assistance and daily routines.

Role requires a valid Australian driver's licence and a own insured vehicle, plus minimum 3 months in similar care role with hoist training and medication experience. Guaranteed hours and supportive team culture are offered.

Qualifications

• At least 3 months experience in a similar professional role in aged care.
• Experience in personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications.

Responsibilities

• Provide home help services: housekeeping, making beds, cleaning, laundry, meal preparation and shopping.
• Provide personal care: assisting with getting in/out of bed, showering/dressing, helping with medications, mobility support, and high care needs.
• Offer transport to activities or appointments and support to family carers.

It takes a special person to be a Care Worker and help the older members of our community to maintain their independence and wellbeing. We are looking for a person with at least 3 months experience in a similar professional role, to join the Silverchain team in Nelson Bay and surrounding areas.

In Addition, You Will Need

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• Experience of 3 months or more in a similar professional role, with experience in with personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications.

The role

In the role of Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as:

• General housekeeping and making beds
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.

You will also be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as:

• Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day
• Assisting clients to take their medications
• Assisting with mobility and therapy goals
• Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia
• Providing social and emotional support
• Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
