Job summary

Silverchain is hiring a Care Worker to support our aged care clients in Port Macquarie West and surrounding areas. The role focuses on home help and personal care, including housekeeping, meal prep, mobility assistance and medication support. A valid Australian driver’s license and your own insured vehicle are required.

Candidates with at least 3 months of similar experience are encouraged to apply. We offer guaranteed hours with Monday–Wednesday shifts, an award rate of 34.42 AUD per hour plus

Qualifications

• 3 months or more experience in a similar professional role.
• Valid Australian Driver's Licence and own insured vehicle.

Responsibilities

• General housekeeping, meals, cleaning, laundry and shopping.
• Personal care support including mobility, medications, and transporting clients.
• Providing social and emotional support and respite for family carers.

It takes a special person to be a Care Worker and help the older members of our community to maintain their independence and wellbeing. We are looking for a person with at least 3 months experience in a similar professional role, to join the Silverchain team in Port Macquarie West and surrounding suburbs (Beechwood, Huntingdon, Redbank, Wauchope etc...).

In addition, you will need:

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• Experience of 3 months or more in a similar professional role, with experience in with personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications. (no cert 3 required)

The role

In the role of Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as:

• General housekeeping and making beds
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.

You will also be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as:

• Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day
• Assisting clients to take their medications
• Assisting with mobility and therapy goals
• Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia
• Providing social and emotional support
• Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
