Churches of Christ in Queensland is seeking Home Care Support Workers to join our Sunshine Coast team. We offer ongoing positions and Christmas casual opportunities across Caloundra, Nambour and Noosa, supporting older clients to stay independent in their own homes.

Responsibilities include domestic tasks, shopping, transport, social support and companionship to help clients maintain dignity and independence in the community.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in supporting people.
• Friendly, respectful and dependable approach.
• Current driver’s licence and reliable transport.
• Eligibility to work in Australia and able to obtain a National Police Check.
• Availability to work across the Sunshine Coast service area.
• Willingness to complete required employment screening.

1. Ongoing position

Join our team in an ongoing role supporting clients with everyday tasks, including domestic assistance, shopping, transport and social support. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for consistent work while building relationships with clients in their local community.

2. Christmas Casual – November to February

Help us keep our clients supported over the busy Christmas and summer period by covering planned staff leave. This is a fixed-term opportunity, with the potential for extension depending on ongoing service demand and work availability.

This role could suit university students, nursing students or anyone looking for flexible, meaningful work over the summer break.

Both opportunities will cover the Sunshine Coast, primarily between Caloundra and Nambour, with potential work extending to Noosa.

What you’ll be doing

• Providing domestic assistance, including general household cleaning.
• Supporting clients with shopping and everyday errands.
• Helping clients get to appointments and other outings through transport assistance.
• Providing social support and friendly companionship.
• Helping older people maintain their independence, dignity and connection to their community.

What we’re looking for

• A genuine interest in supporting people and making a positive difference.
• A friendly, respectful and dependable approach.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work independently.
• A current driver’s licence and reliable transport, where required for the role.
• Relevant working rights in Australia (we are unable to sponsor) and hold or be willing to obtain a valid National Police Check.
• Availability to work across the Sunshine Coast service area.
• Willingness to complete required employment screening and role‑specific checks.

A Certificate III in Individual Support is desirable but not essential.
