Suncare Community Services is seeking a casual Home & Garden Assistant to support older Australians in maintaining their homes on the Sunshine Coast. You will start from the Maroochydore Homemaker Centre, collect a company vehicle, and spend your day delivering mowing, edging, hedge trimming, and other upkeep tasks in customers’ homes.
Shifts typically run 7:00am–3:00pm, Monday to Friday, with work across the region.
Getting older can mean giving up a lot, your home, your routine, your sense of independence. We don’t think it should.
With more than 800 team members and 200 volunteers, we’re here to help people keep living the life they love, with reliable in-home and community care, a local team who knows the neighbourhood, and the kind of support that always has time for a cuppa and a chat.
And we look after our team the same way. We offer real support, meaningful recognition, and rewards that reflect the difference you make every day.
As part of our Home & Garden Services team, you'll help older Australians keep living life their way in the place they call home. Whether it's mowing a lawn that's getting a little too much to manage, trimming hedges, clearing gutters or helping with jobs around the house, you'll make everyday life feel a little easier.
Working across Sunshine Coast communities, you'll visit customers in their homes and become a familiar face they can rely on. You'll start your day from our Maroochydore Homemaker Centre Head Office, where you'll collect a fully equipped company vehicle and head out with a team member to deliver services across the region. This is a casual position, with shifts typically worked between 7:00am and 3:00pm, Monday to Friday, depending on customer needs and service schedules.
Together, you'll complete a variety of home and garden maintenance tasks, including mowing, edging, brush cutting, pruning, weeding, pressure washing, window and gutter cleaning, and helping with those harder-to-reach jobs like ceiling fans, smoke alarms and high cupboards. All tools, equipment and training are provided.
The work is hands-on, but the impact goes well beyond a tidy lawn or freshly cleaned gutter. Every visit helps someone stay safe, connected to their community, and living independently in the home they know and love.
We believe real care starts with real belonging. That means creating a workplace where everyone - no matter their background, culture, or story - feels seen, respected, and safe to be themselves.
We welcome applications from First Nations people, the LGBTIQA+ community, people with disabilities, and those from culturally diverse backgrounds. Your story matters here.
We proudly work across the lands of the Gubbi Gubbi (Gub-bee Gub-bee), Turrbal, Yuggera, Darumbal, Butchulla (Batjala) & Taribelang Bunda peoples, and extend our respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities. We are committed to creating a culturally safe, inclusive and welcoming workplace for all.
