Job summary

Austin Health in Melbourne is seeking HMOs for the General stream in the Junior Medical Workforce (HMO3 General). This role offers rotations across Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, ICU and Cardiology, with a six-month Obstetrics/Gynaecology option at Mercy Hospital for Women.

You will work under supervision, contributing to admission, management and safe discharge while teaching and mentoring junior staff. Strong teamwork is required.

Qualifications

• Be registered (or able to be registered) with AHPRA.
• Be dedicated to delivering excellent patient care.
• Be dedicated to teaching, training and developing strong teams.
• Be able to provide a current Working with Children check.

Responsibilities

• Participate in admission, management and safe discharge of patients under supervision.
• Collaborate with senior medical staff, nursing and others to provide safe, quality care.
• Facilitate communication with patients, families and general practitioners.
• Explain diagnosis, treatment options and expect outcomes in clear, understandable terms.
