Job summary

NSW Health Pathology is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist in Histopathology to join the Anatomical Pathology team at Royal North Shore Hospital in Northern Sydney. You will perform tissue processing, sectioning and staining to support accurate diagnoses, under guidance from senior staff.

This permanent full-time role offers a collaborative, learning-focused environment. Applicants must have a science/MLS degree and experience with pathology services, LIS, and QA systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or higher in Science/Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent with histopathology relevance.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Anatomical Pathology laboratory delivery.
• Experience with Laboratory Information Systems, Patient Systems and QA software.
• Good written and spoken communication with customers, patients and staff.
• Ability to manage priorities and work in a team and autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Dissect, process, section and stain histology tissue samples.
• Coordinate training and contribute to quality management of lab practices.
• Ensure compliance with operational standards and procedures.
• Work in a collaborative environment to deliver timely diagnostic support.
