Job summary

Healius is seeking a Histology Scientist to join our Histology department in Brisbane. You will be responsible for producing accurate diagnostic results through tissue processing, embedding, microtomy and staining, ensuring quality and timely reporting.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, 5+ years in Histology, and 2+ years in Immunohistochemistry, with strong attention to detail and teamwork in a busy pathology lab.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field.
• 5+ years experience in Histology lab.
• 2+ years experience in Immunohistochemistry.

Responsibilities

• Perform histological techniques including tissue processing, embedding, microtomy and staining
• Ensure accurate and timely recording and reporting of results
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment in line with protocols
• Adhere to quality assurance and accreditation standards (NATA, ISO)
• Identify and troubleshoot issues to support effective laboratory operations
• Contribute to continuous improvement and team-based outcomes
