Job summary

Healius Limited is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to join our pathology team in Brisbane. You will help process specimens, ensure accurate registration, and support core laboratories to meet turnaround times and deliver reliable results.

Ideal candidates have a detail-oriented approach, good time management and the ability to follow structured procedures in a busy environment. A healthcare background or pathology-related certification is preferred, with training provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in a laboratory or healthcare environment is preferred but not required.
• Certificate in pathology or laboratory skills is desirable.
• Ability to follow structured procedures and maintain accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Receive, check and process specimens with high accuracy.
• Complete data entry and register specimens in laboratory systems.
• Prepare and dispatch specimens to core laboratories within required timeframes.
• Handle enquiries via phone and shared mailboxes; escalate as needed.
• Coordinate urgent specimen handling and courier collections.
• Maintain laboratory records, storage and filing processes.
• Support quality activities and ensure compliance with WHS policies.
